Have you ever thought about someone and just smiled? Have you ever seen a person radiate excitement when they talk about something that’s important to them? Have you ever seen someone completely at ease with those around them?

People are cool. I know, such a generic statement, but lately, I’ve been thinking about how certain people are the way that they are and the ways that different people show emotions.

Personally, I enjoy talking to people. Meeting new people is a high for me. Asking them questions about where they’ve been and where they want to be is thrilling. Learning what makes a person tick is captivating for me. I like gravitating towards people I don’t know or people that I’d like to know better. Being this way has also shown me that not everyone is like this.

Some people would rather listen than talk about themselves, while others will wait until they are spoken to. Some don’t know how to continue a conversation even if they want to, while others only feel comfortable speaking to those closest to them.

Regardless of the category, there’s a link that seems to surpass any hurdle of conversation. It just may take a minute to find it–passion.

Watching someone talk about something they’re passionate about has to be one of the most rewarding things to witness. Genuinely, it doesn’t matter what that “something” is. It could be pizza, for all intents and purposes. Whatever it is, it’s like the person’s eyes are shining.

Next time you meet someone, try it out. Notice the way they react to certain things and find that one thing or topic that they probably couldn’t shut up about if you wanted them to. I told you, people are cool.
